“We believe that in the fight with cancer, no one rides alone”.
I have this amazing friend. She’s full of life and love. She’s a wife and a mother, and unfortunately living with cancer. Stacie Nevells Sparkman was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in late 2005. Post a full hysterectomy and now with a thyroid tumor, Stacie fights a daily battle. Pain, difficulty breathing and insomnia are just a few of the symptoms that accompany her on her path through life. However, a creative individual emerges from underneath, fighting. Stating “My cancer does not define me!” So each year, I get back onto my bike for another long ride…I think of Stacie and I imagine that with each climb we come closer; closer to each other, closer to our united goal, closer to a cure. On Saturday, October 11, 2014 you’ll find me praying for Stacie, climbing those hills with screaming calves while I sing, no SCREAM from the top of my lungs! BEAT CANCER!
